At its December 2005
Haarlem meeting, the Board decided to create the new category of Guest Membership.
It is described as follows.
ISPSO is very much interested in having an international
membership that is not restricted by extreme disparities in exchange rates. We
therefore have created a category of temporary guest membership in order to
provide an opportunity for our colleagues from respective countries to join us
in sharing and developing thoughts and practice in the field of the
psychoanalytic study of organizations.
We invite colleagues from these countries
unable to afford ISPSO’s membership fee but interested in becoming ISPSO
members and taking part in our activities to apply for membership via our website
www.ispso.org. They can apply for
guest-membership, which entails exemption of member dues for two years. Once
the Board and the Executive Director confirm their membership, they are asked
to pay ISPSO an application fee of $ 50 (USD). Guest members can
register for Annual Meetings at a 50% reduction of the Symposium fee for
members. They are also invited to take part in Members’ Day and to attend
Regional Meetings. Guest members are not eligible to take part in the annual
elections for Board members and President-Elect.
A second year of guest membership is available (also with a fee of $50). After a
period of two years, guest members are invited to continue their membership
under the standard conditions. If necessary, guest membership status may be
extended beyond the two-year period upon special request.
